THE WEIGHT OF THE CROSS MAR, 27,2020
AS WE GET CLOSER TO RESURRECTION SUNDAY WE WILL BE DIGGING INTO ALL THAT CHRIST HAS DONE FOR US.
JESUS GIVE A HEADS UP TO HIS DISCIPLES THAT HE WOULD DIE AT THE HANDS OF THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS AND BE RESURRECTED AFTER 3 DAYS.
HE TELLS THEM THIS AT LEAST 3 TIMES.
Mark 8:31 (KJV) 31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
Mark 10:33-34 (KJV) 33 Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles: 34 And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
Mark 14:3-9 (KJV) 3 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head. 4 And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? 5 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her. 6 And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. 7 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. 8 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. 9 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
FURTHER DOWN THE CHAPTER JESUS US HAVING THE LAST SUPPER WITH HIS DISCIPLES. HE TELLS THEM THAT ONE OF THEM, ONE OF THE 12, WOULD BETRAY HIM.
THEN HE TELL THEM THAT ALL OF THEM WILL BE OFFENDED BECAUSE OF HIM TONIGHT AND ABANDON HIM.
HE QUOTES Zechariah 13:7 (KJV) 7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
Mark 14:27-28 (KJV) 27 And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered. 28 But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.
HE THEN TELLS THEM AGAIN OF HIS DEATH AND SAYS AFTER HIS RESURRECTION HE WILL SEE THEM IN GALILEE.
PETER SAYS I WILL NEVER BE OFFENDED AND JESUS TELLS PETER TONIGHT YOU WILL DENY KNOWING ME 3 TIMES.
PETER SAYS THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN AND THE OTHER DISCIPLES AGREE.
JESUS AND HIS DISCIPLES, WITHOUT JUDAS, THEN GO TO GETHSEMANE A PLACE ON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES WHERE JESUS AND HIS DISCIPLES WENT OFTEN.
HE SEPARATES HIS DISCIPLES TAKES PETER JAMES AND JOHN AND GOES OFF A LITTLE WAY TO PRAY. HE GIVES PETER JAMES AND JOHN INSTRUCTION TO PRAY FOR HIM AS HE IS VERY SORROWFUL.
Mark 14:33-34 (KJV) 33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; 34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.
WE KNOW THAT JESUS KNOWS EVERYTHING INCLUDING EVERY DETAIL OF WHAT IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN AND HE US UNDER SUCH STRESS AND CONCERN HE IS TO THE POINT OF DEATH.
JOHN RECORDS THIS John 18:4 (KJV) 4 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? THIS IS WHY JESUS BEING ALL HUMAN AND ALL GOD WAS EXPERIENCING THE GREATEST STRESS ANYONE HAS EVER EXPERIENCED.
HE KNEW THE ARREST, ABANDONMENT OF HIS DISCIPLES THE PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL DISTRESS HE WOULD ENDURE. HE KNEW EXACTLY HOW THE NAILS WOULD FEEL AND THE STRUGGLE TO BREATH ON THE CROSS AND THE 3 HOURS OF SEPARATION FROM GOD THE FATHER. FOR 3 HOURS JESUS, THE 2ND PERSON OF THE TRINITY , WAS SEPARATED AND BECAME AN ENEMY OF GOD THE FATHER AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. JESUS BECAME SIN WHO COMMITTED NO SIN. JUST THINKING ABOUT IT WAS ALL HE COULD TAKE.

Luke 22:42-45 (KJV) 42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. 43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. 44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. 45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
AND NOW THE BETRAYAL.
AFTER ALL THIS DISTRESS IT IS STARTING.
GOD THE FATHER HAS RULED THERE IS NO OTHER WAY.
THERE IS NO OTHER WAY FOR MANKIND TO BE RECONCILED TO GOD. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY BUT FOR JESUS TO FINISH WHAT HE CAME TO DO; AND JESUS' HUMANITY IS SCREAMING ABOUT TO BLOW UP. ABOUT TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK BECAUSE OF THE STRESS AND NOW COME THE BETRAYAL.
1 BETRAYS HIM AND THE OTHER RUN AWAY. JESUS IS LEFT ALONE. AFTER 3 YEARS OF TEACHING AND GUIDING HIS DISCIPLES.
THIS BRINGS GREAT MEANING TO
John 3:16 (KJV) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
GOD THE FATHER SACRIFICED GOD THE SON FOR YOUR SINS, FOR YOUR SINS, SO YOU COULD BE WITH THEM FOREVER IN HEAVEN.
SO THAT YOU WOULD NOT BE JUDGED OF YOUR SIN AND BE CONDEMNED TO HELL FOREVER.
JESUS ENDURED THE SHAME, THE ABUSE, THE ABANDONMENT OF NOT JUST HIS DISCIPLES, BUT THE ABANDONMENT FOR 3 HOURS OF GOD THE FATHER, WAS BEATEN BEYOND ALL RECOGNITION AND DIED ALONE FOR MY SINS AND YOUR SINS.
NOW GOD THE FATHER IS OFFERING GRACE AND MERCY TO ALL WHO WILL BELIEVE IN THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD.
TO ALL WHO WILL RECOGNIZE THAT YOUR SIN HAS SEPARATED YOU FROM GOD AND PUT YOU ON A ROAD THAT LEADS TO AN ETERNITY IN HELL.
BUT BY ASKING FORGIVENESS AND CHOOSING TO LIVE A LIFE THAT HONORS OUR SAVIOR(REPENTING) YOU CAN BE FORGIVEN ALL YOUR SIN; SINS PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE.
YOU WE WILL BE DECLARED FOREVER RIGHTEOUS AND OK TO ENTER GOD'S PRESENCE BY JESUS.
BE ADOPTED INTO THE FAMILY OF GOD.
IN THESE DAYS OF UNCERTAINTY AND DEATH I URGE YOU TO CONSIDER WHERE YOU WILL SPEND ETERNITY!!!!
